🛠️Tools of the Week🛠️

Zinc

Background Checking

When looking at time-to-hire figures should we also look at the on boarding process after a role has been accepted? Part of that is doing the relevant background checks. These things can also play a big part in delaying your new hires start time. Lets look at Zing background checking software

🚀 What is it and how does it work? Zinc is a software platform that is used by both recruitment and HR teams for background and reference-checking

With Zincs solutions you can collect checks directly through your ATS due to Zincs long list of integrated ATS platforms like Greenhouse, Workable, Workday, Success Factors, Ashby, Pinpoint, Teamtailor, SmartRecruiters, Lever, LinkedIn Talent Hub, Comeet, and Hibob.

There is a large and growing number of checks you can do with this platform that includes; Employment verification, self certification, directorship, criminal record checks, right to work and education to name a few. Zinc also saves its users time by using automated follows ups via text and email.

💡 Who is it for? Start-ups to enterprise clients. They also have a global capability so will be useful for companies that need to do cross border compliant checks

💸 How much does it cost? We couldn’t source costs direct, however their G2 profile mentions the following:

Zinc has 3 pricing editions, a flex plan, a start-up plan and a professional plan that ranges from £30 to £300. A free trial of Zinc is also available.

Merge

Middleware

Middleware, the glue that keeps your stack together. One of the biggest selling points of a new tools is how many other tools you use that it integrates well with. However some new tools are just not there yet and with so many new ones coming into the market it can be a challenge for vendors to keep up with their integrations request lists from its users.

🚀 What is it and how does it work? In their own words, Merge provides the tools to transform how B2B companies realise customer-facing integrations. With Merge’s Unified API, developers integrate just once with one API, for all integrations. Merge takes charge of the entire lifecycle of integrations and adds new platforms every week.

Lets look at how its can work inside a recruitment function with ATS integration. Merge already integrates with a large number ATS providers, now lets say you’re using a candidate data intelligence platform and you would like for it to pull specific data sets and information directly from your ATS in the platform. However, the new tool doesn’t offer a partnership or integration with your ATS at this stage. Merge offers a unified API that can be used to connect the two tools together.

💡 Who is it for? Anyone who wants to link their platforms together, enabling data to pass from one tool the another seamlessly, saving you a lot of time an effort

💸 How much does it cost? Merge offers 3 plans:

Launch: A free plan that allows you to test and validate your user case using Production Linked Accounts.

Professional: Their pro plan is for companies that want to power deep integration use cases, and is a contract based pricing model

Enterprise: Their enterprise plan is for companies that want added levels of security, support, and infrastructure, and again is contract based pricing model

For both professional and enterprise plans you would need to call their sales team for costs.

Cronofy

Scheduling

Whether you have a unified interview process across all roles or different interview types and stages for positions within your company, scheduling can be one of the biggest time diminishers and admin intensive part of a recruiters day. That is unless you have access to a scheduling tool via your ATS or an integrated 3rd party tool like Cronofy.

🚀 What is it and how does it work? Cronofy is a SaaS product whose technology, calendar and scheduling API actually powers a lot of other scheduling tools. If you’re a company that has development resources and can develop you own applications, Cronofy gives you the ability & technology to be able to implement scheduling software inside of your own applications.

Cronofy is already integrated with most widely used ATS platforms such as Greenhouse, SuccessFactors and Lever, and allows you to start scheduling from directly inside your ATS. You can get your candidates to self schedule using automated generated links, or schedule multi-person panel interviews with more than one interviewer.

Cronofy also has Chrome extension which lets you schedule in Cronofy from any webpage. There is also a Slack integration so users can choose and confirm times without having to leave their chat.

💡 Who is it for? Whether you’re a small team or a large enterprise, if you’re hiring and you want to not spend all your time scheduling and rescheduling. Then a tool like Cronofy will definitely prove useful.

💸 How much does it cost? There are three pricing plans available, Team, Business and Enterprise. All plans are available either monthly or yearly payments. Yearly will save you 15%

Lets look at the monthly plans:

  • Team: Up to 50 active users is £13 per account

  • Business: For 50 to 200 active users is £699/month

  • Enterprise: For 200 plus users is £2,299/month

Datapeople

Recruiting Intelligence

Biases can creep in anywhere during the hiring process and more and more tools are coming out to help diminish these where possible. One of the biggest areas biases can turn up apart from during interviews is in the job descriptions. Datapeople is one tool that can help eliminate this

🚀 What is it and how does it work? In their own words: Datapeople is a recruiting and language analytics platform for hiring teams. They organise and augment your recruiting data to improve key parts of your hiring process, from the job description candidates first see to the reports you share with your company. Their goal is to give you the information you need to make hiring more efficient and fair for everyone.

With the Datapeople platform, you will:

  • Write clear and inclusive job posts

  • Attract more diverse, qualified candidate pools

  • Fill roles faster and strategically

  • Understand your candidate pipeline instantly

  • Make confident decisions about your entire hiring process

Datapeople also offers direct integration with a number of platforms including most of the popular ATS’s.

💡 Who is it for? All hiring and recruitment teams. if you a company / team who is looking to make sure that they hiring can be as non bias and diverse as possible, by utilising your data to help make decisions, then this is the tool for you.

💸 How much does it cost? Pricing info is unfortunately not available. However, we can see that is pricing is primarily based on the number of talent acquisition team members (users) that will be using the service.

ATS integration is at no extra costs

Socially Recruited

Sourcing

Sometimes our candidates can be needles in a haystack and we have to look outside the major platforms sometimes (sorry LinkedIn). The truth is most people will have a profile on other social platforms somewhere, leaving a digital footprint to be targeted.

🚀 What is it and how does it work? Socially Recruited has developed an AI tool that helps increase your reach when searching for that ever elusive candidate, getting your brand in front of the candidates where they hang out, using targeted and retargeted ads

The tools uses an approach similar to what you might see if you were running consumer led advertising campaigns. The campaigns are multi-touch and include engaging creative adverts for each stage of the attraction funnel.

The platform uses AI to help optimises candidate conversion through mirroring consumer habits. Smart! On top of that you can also set up referral campaigns allowing candidates to easily refer jobs to others that they feel are are a good fit.

Socially Recruited then lets you track your campaign performance. From viewing and engaging stats, through to their on-site behaviour and application, and important candidate demographics data.

💡 Who is it for? Teams looking to increase there range of reach. User cases are giving for both agency and inhouse teams. However, we think it would best suited for inhouse teams that want to increase brand awareness and at the same time reach a larger audience, possibly for volume hiring or hard to fill roles.

💸 How much does it cost? Socially Recruited has not made available any pricing plans.
